Your data is not stored. The HueConfigViewer app does not save any data or share any data with its developer. The app offers a function to share your bridge configuration (e.g. email it to yourself) and you decide where you send this. Your bridge configuration contains the bridge’s local IP address and the names that you have given to your rooms, lights, and the names of apps you have linked to you bridge.

2.0.1 Rewritten for Android

App was rewritten in another programming language. Main changes:

  • Need to push link your bridge again.
  • An extra entry “capabilities” is shown per bridge,
  • the name of nested object (e.g. a light, group, sensor, resourcelink) is show,
  • mDNS based bridge discovery support,
  • UTF8 support,
  • layout and colour changes,
  • font size is the same in portrait and landscape orientation.

1.3 Highlighting changes and larger fonts

After pressing the sync-icon to fetch an updated bridge configuration, the entries that have changed are now shown in another colour.

Hue bridge configuration keys and values are shown horizontally next to each other. If you find the fonts too small then turn the phone to landscape orientation, it has more space horizontally and uses a larger font.

Solved a problem when pushing the button on multiple bridges while searching for bridges.

1.0 Launch of Hue Config Viewer

Trying to launch the HueConfigViewer on iOS and Android. An app requiring a Philips Hue system with a Hue bridge. Its sole purpose is to view the configuration inside the Hue bridge, compare it to a “registry viewer”. The Hue Config Viewer is not an editor, it will not write to the configuration. It does not control your lights.

Are you a Hue developer or user, interested what is the configuration in your Hue bridge? With the Hue Config Viewer you can see the configuration.  If you want to understand the configuration, go to the Philips page https://www.meethue.com and look for “developers” and then “Philips hue API”.
